Launch Technician
Job Description

The Launch Technician serves as a versatile and highly skilled field technician dedicated to new market expansion and operational continuity. This individual delivers advanced ADAS calibration and diagnostic services while supporting Sales and Marketing in new market launches, providing hands-on demonstrations to potential and new clients to build strategic relationships and evaluate market viability. With a deep understanding of both technical execution and sales aptitude, the Launching Tech plays a critical role in fostering client trust, ensuring seamless transitions to full-time technicians, and covering regional technician outages such as PTO or sick leave, all through a heavily scheduled and planned travel itinerary. Although not a formal sales or management position, this role operates as a hybrid technical and market development leader, driving service reliability and growth across all regions.

  • New Market Launch Support
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for new market launches.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing to provide technical services to prospective clients and foster relationships.
  • Regional Coverage for Outages
  • Provide coverage on a regional basis for technician outages, including PTO or sick leave, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Meet with Regional leadership to set goals and plans ahead of travel to support a market, ensuring you are able to support production goals set forth.
  • Travel and Time Management
  • Travel full time based on a heavily scheduled and planned travel itinerary to support Sales or Operational needs across a specified coverage area.
  • Manage travel and logistical resources effectively to provide exceptional service where and when it’s needed.
  • Process Feedback and Knowledge Sharing
  • Provide insightful feedback on sales and operations processes, drawing from a deep understanding of these workflows to teach and share best practices with clients and technicians during market transitions.
  • Improve efficiency in service procedures without compromising quality and safety of the repair
  • Training and Development
  • Work with Regional Managers to identify training needs and develop performance plans for technicians
  • Deploy to markets to train technicians on new processes or procedures, act as a mentor to mobile technicians
Required Skills
  • Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in ADAS calibration, diagnostics, or related automotive technical work.
  • ASE certifications in A6 and L4 strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of exposure to sales support or client-facing roles in the automotive industry, such as demos, relationship-building, or market evaluation activities.
  • Strong sales aptitude, demonstrated through effective client communication, relationship building, and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record in regional travel and on-site service delivery, including experience covering technician absences or supporting multi-location operations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain ADAS calibration and diagnostic procedures to collision center clients and teammates.
  • Proven track record of resolving advanced diagnostic challenges.
  • Familiarity with creating or contributing to internal training materials, SOPs, or technical guides.
  • Comfortable providing constructive feedback and coaching in a professional, team-focused manner.
  • Strong understanding of OEM calibration protocols, scan tool data interpretation, and diagnostic strategies.
